Company Overview

Founded in 1998, ClearFuels Technology Inc. is a leading developer of low-cost advanced renewable biofuels with a well-defined strategy for near-term commercialization of our highly flexible thermochemical platform. ClearFuels employs a proprietary thermochemical steam reformation process that converts multiple mixed cellulosic biomass feedstocks into high-value energy products including ethanol, renewable Fischer-Tropsch or "FT" diesel, hydrogen and electrical power at industry-leading yields. Clearfuels’ unique ability to utilize multiple types of feedstock minimizes cost and production impact due to specific feedstock price fluctuations or availability while the ability to produce several types of high-value energy products from the same BTG platform offers the flexibility to meet specific energy demands with lower commodity risks.
Having already proven the process at pilot scale, ClearFuels is now developing demonstration facilities to prove our biomass-to-fuel processes for commercial scale. Following successful demonstration of the ClearFuels process, we intend to capitalize on attractive market opportunities for producing renewable FT diesel and other biofuels from cellulosic feedstocks in the U.S. and internationally.

ClearFuels has initiated project development of five commercial-scale biorefinery facilities in the U.S. to be completed by 2015 with an aggregate capacity of more than 100 million gallons of advanced renewable fuels and 30 MW of renewable power. ClearFuels has also identified specific sugarmills internationally for conversion to integrated biorefineries. All commercial facilities will be co-located with existing sugar mills or wood products facilities, a strategy that will reduce capital and operating costs and increase operating efficiencies of the integrated biorefineries.
